Where to Shop and What to Buy in Thong Nai Pan

If you’re in Thong Nai Pan Beach for shopping you’ve gone to the wrong place. Koh Phangan is not the best shopping location in Thailand and Thong Nai Pan is at about the bottom of the shopping list on the island.

Sure, you’ll be able to get suntan lotion, beer, ice cream, beach toys, snacks and Rizlas but if you want a good choice of souvenirs, handicrafts, clothes and the like you’re going to have to face the slog over the hill to Thongsala, some 45 minutes away. In the meantime, chill out, spend your days on the beach nights in the restaurants and bars.

Thong Nai Pan Noi Beach

SC Shop

The only supermarket in Thong Nai Pan Noi, SC stocks a kaleidoscope of products from snacks to toiletries to alcohol, cigarettes, beach toys, sun lotion and just about anything you can imagine, despite the store’s small size. SC will sort out your phone credit and accepts Thai Military Bank, Visa and MasterCard credit cards. An ATM machine is located outside.

Pam Pharmacy and Bookstore

Pam does not stock much in the way of secondhand books but if you’re desperate then it’ll have to do as there’s nothing else in the village, book-wise. Pam has the basics when it comes to pharmaceuticals along with toiletries.

Tipi Tattoo

A restaurant on one side, a boutique on the other, Tipi has some cool deals when it comes to accessories, dresses, bags, and clothing in general – check out the homemade jewelry and of course if you’re looking for a holiday tattoo, then this is the place to come.

Mr. A Fruit Shop

The name says it all. Juicy mangos, exotic rose apples, healthy bananas and even crispy Chiang Mai apples – Mr. A has ‘em all. Also serving breakfast (with great juices of course) eat here and stagger back to your bungalow with bags of life-giving and healthy fruit.

Thong Nai Pan Yai Beach

White Sand

White Sand convenience store is located smack-bang on Thong Nai Pan Yai Beach and has prices that reflect this advantageous location. Visitors don’t seem to mind though and paying extra beats going over the hill to Thong Nai Pan Noi to the SC supermarket for the sake of saving a few baht.
